Talk about my research at ICDE in Helsinki
Yesterday, I presented the current state of my research at the ICDE PhD Symposium in Helsinki, Finland. I received lots of positive feedback and valuable suggestions, which will definitely influence my future research efforts. You can find my workshop paper here.
The PhD Symposium concluded the ICDE main conference. Over the course of the last week, I had the pleasure to meet very interesting people at the conference.
I especially enjoyed the panel discussion on “Dark Data”. The problems stated by well-renowned researchers such as Ihab Ilyas or Tim Kraska during the panel are essentially the motivation behind my own research. My minimally-intrusive approach to data integration could well be the ideal answer to some of the most important challenges in the context of enterprise data lakes.
If you ever have the chance to travel to Helsinki: Do not miss out on a visit to the Suomenlinna sea fortress in the Gulf of Finland! You get some really breathtaking views from there (see the last picture).
